Ystävänpäivä :: Valentine's Day

Hyvinhän se meni. Sydän-pajassa riitti kävijöitä koko päivän ja kaikille riitti istumapaikat. Innokasta puikotusta, koukutusta, tökötystä, tikkausta ja rautalangasta vääntöä koko päivä.

Whew! Relieved! Everything went well. There were quite a lot of participants in the Valentine's Day event at the Crafts Museum, and we did get a lot of hearts for charity. I forgot to take a photo before leaving at 3 p.m., but at noon there were already many products on display. As I always enjoy learning things, I remember best the things that were new to me: crochet jewelry with metal yarn and learning to pronounce two difficult Portuguese words: coração (heart) and João. There were two visitors from Portugal who tried needle felting in the workshop. The little crocheted pouch/bag means a lot to me: it's made of handspun wool that I got from France when we did a skein swap. The colour is perfect for Valentine's Day, I think. My special thanks to babacool who spun the yarn.

Soulagement, tout s'est si bien passé. Il y avait beaucoup de participants pour l'Atelier Coeur du Musée de l'artisanat, mais pas trop. J'ai oublié de prendre une photo des coeurs réalisés avant de partir, mais à midi il y avait déjà une bonne collection. Pour cette occasion j'ai appris deux choses: faire des bijoux de fil en métal et prononcer deux mot difficiles en portugais, coração et João (deux jeunes étudiants portugais sont venus visiter le musée et ils sont restés pour essayer l'aiguilletage). Un merci spécial à babacool. Vous vous souvenez l'échange inter-fileur "Le feu couve sous la glace"? Du fil de babacool j'ai crocheté une petite pochette coeur.

Sydämiä syntyi paljon. En ehtinyt laskea enkä ottaa kuvaa ennen lähtöä, kun tuli kiire bussille. Tässä kuva aamupäivältä. Iltapäivään mennessä teline oli täynnä etenkin huovutettuja sydämiä. Sydämet myydään Käsityön museon rompetorilla perjantaina 27.3. Siihen asti niitä voi ihailla museokaupan ikkunassa (näin on ainakin luvattu). Museo tiedottanee asiasta jatkossa tarkemmin.

Nuoremmat opettivat vanhempia.

Opin tätä tempausta varten taas yhden uuden asian: metallilangan virkkauksen. Lisäksi opin parilta portugalilaiselta opiskelijalta ääntämään oikein portugalin sanan coração eli sydän ja nimen João :) Rannekoru hopeoidusta langasta:

Tällä pikkulaukulla on minulle aivan erityinen merkitys. Se on virkattu ranskalaisen babacoolin kehräämästä langasta.
