Joulumarkkinat, 2. päivä

Kassa on laskettu ja kovin pieneksi havaittu. Saldo kuitenkin positiivisen puolella. Neuleita jäi myymättä niin paljon, että seuraaville markkinoille ei tarvitse juuri mitään tehdäkään. Jos nyt osallistun seuraaville markkinoille (varasin paikan, mutta voihan sen vielä perua). Markkinoilla oli yli 300 myyjää, joten löytyi sieltä tietysti muutakin ostettavaa kuin meidän käsityöt ja langat.

Mutta olihan markkinat ihan mukava kokemus. Tapasin paljon uusia ihmisiä, harrastin vähän villan- ja karitsanvälitystäkin (!) ja tänään kehräsin todella julkisesti. Kehruuni ja pieni Louëtin rukkini pysäytti varmasti satoja ihmisiä. Siinä sai kuulla monenlaista muisteloa vanhoista ajoista ja villan kehräämisestä. Ainakin kaksi miestä tunnusti kehränneensä, mikä jäi erityisesti mieleen. Ja mieleen jäivät tietysti myös ne, jotka aikoivat etsiä käsiinsä vanhan perintörukin ja opetella kehräämään.

Today and yesterday a friend of mine from the local knitters and my mother-in-law were selling our handicraft products on the local Christmas market. Not much money in that, but quite a lot of fun and a lot of social contacts. There were more than 300 merchants and many probably with much more interesting things to offer. But for me, Sunday was especially nice since I spun almost the whole day and in front of a really big audience. Hundreds of people stopped at our stand to look at my spinning and my small Louët S45 spinning wheel. I bet they remember this day for long. Many people said they were going to look up their old spinning wheels and learn to spin.

Dans ces deux derniers billets, je parle de nos expérience du marché de Noël. J'y suis allée avec ma belle-mère et une copine qui tricote. Nous n'avons pas vendu beaucoup de nos produits ou, plutôt, les gens n'ont pas acheté beaucoup. Il y avait plus de 300 vendeurs, donc pas mal de compétition. Donc, avant le décembre prochain, je ne tricoterai que pour moi même.

Mais je trouve que ça valait le coup, de toute façon. Surtout aujourd'hui quand j'y ai apporté mon rouet et filé devant le public pendant des heures. Des centaines d'hommes, femmes et enfants se sont arrêtés devant notre stand et ont posé des questions sur le rouet (le petit Louët S45 que presque personne n'avait vu avant) et sur le filage. Je suis sûre que ça va inciter des gens à aller chercher leur vieux rouets et (essayer d')apprendre à filer.
